I have a library of documents.
What I'm trying to do: 
When the user adds a file, he or she must fill in the metadata. I would like to make sure that when the user fills out the metadata form, they can add items to a list on the site.

I've never made any changes to forms and I don't know ASP. I have tried with SharePoint Designer 2010 / 2013 and InfoPath but I can't find how to do it in Designer (shows only ASP code) and InfoPath is apparently no longer supported.
