The SharePoint navigation on the Roca site is set to be Managed meta data navigation and all subsites are set to inherit from the parent site. All sites are set to inherit the same masterpage, css and theme. When we get to the 3rd level of sites; however, they do not inherit the Managed meta data navigation but rather start using Structured navigation. We have tried multiple means to correct this, including recreating subsites and pages; however, nothing has worked.

In my test, after I configured global Managed navigation for the top site, I created a subsite for the top site with enabling navigation inheritance. However, after the subsite was created, the managed navigation didn't work on the subsite, I checked the navigation setting, it showed "Display the same navigation item as the parent site" for Global Navigation. After I clicked OK on the navigation page, the subsite could showed managed navigation well.

So, for this issue, if you enable navigation inheritance when creating subsites, please go to the navigation settings, and click OK.
