We have a server (Azure VM) running a SQL server instance on it. In our subscription we have created recovery service vault and tried to backup the databases on this server using the option called "SQL server in Azure VM". We clicked on discover the databases but later we thought not using this feature so we cancelled this deployment. Now if I go to backup jobs in recovery service vault, we see this server status as "Registered" and type is "Azure workload". Now we want to remove this from recovery service vault because we are already backing up our SQL databases using SQL management studio and don't want to use this feature. Now If I go to backup infrastructure--> protected servers tab in recovery service vault and then select -->"Workload in azure VM", I see the server for which we tried to setup the SQL database backup. My question is if I delete this item from here will it be deleting the VM itself?

Deleting the backup can be done either by retaining/deleting the whole backup of the VM. It  doesn't delete the VM.
