I'll copy text from one file to place into a new html page in EW2, i.e.,

I will bring up EW2 from the quick launch then with a new html page. When I paste the above text or ANY text that may be in the clipboard EW2 pastes this......

and with each successive "paste" it will paste the same but with a different *.gif on the end of which I have none on my Hard Drives??

I tried a repair, no luck.  This has happened from time to time over the year or so I've had EW2

This shows that you're actually copying a .gif picture not the text.
