 My client would like to use their internal Tableau Server (residing behind the DMZ) to serve up visualizations in a public-facing website.
   We would like to present the Tableau generated views, dashboard, storyboard, etc. on SharePoint website without having to expose Tableau server to the public internet. From what I can see, the only way to accomplish that is to make a direct call to Tableau server via SharePoint web part or iframe.
    Is there any approach to hide Tableau server behind the firewall and still able to fetch its interactive views on a public website? 
    At the present time, we have Tableau in our internal server, living behind DMZ firewall

I don't think you can do that. To show the content of a external site on SharePoint site, we must make sure SharePoint site could access the content of the external site. If you hide the external server(Tableau Server) using firewall, I am afraid that you are unable to access the content of the external server on SharePoint site.
