As a SharePoint Admin it is important to keep a close eye on the storage since content is growing extremely fast therefore, I need to implement at solution to track database sizes over time for capacity planning and for database capacity management.

Acceptance Criteria:
Update or Implement a solution/powershell script to record the database size for each SharePoint database on a daily bases and keep for a minimum of 12 months. 

1. Content Database Sizes should be stored in a Database
2. Content Database size should be retrieved automatically via a script or job that is run daily.
3. Information Stored should indicate if the database is active, passive or standby if possible. Information should also include the date and time the entry was made in the database along with the database name, size and when it was created, if possible.

I would look into 3rd party products that are designed for database management, such as Solarwinds, SCOM, etc. You don't want to do this from the SharePoint side as you won't get data that is all that valuable. These 3rd party tools are much more extensive.
