I am upgrading SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013. I have one web application which has many database. i have done following steps.

Create SharePoint 2013 Environment
Backup and restore content db from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013
Create Web Application on SharePoint 2013 environment
Test & Mount content DB to SharePoint 2013 environment.
Now newly SharePoint 2013 web application has more DB mounted.
i have remove/detached default content db from web application, db creaed when web application created.

Are you able to see the site counts in the content database section in central admin? Also was the web application was in classic mode in SP2010?

Run Get-SPContentDatabase through powershell, you will get the list of content database along with the Name, ID, Web Application, Server and Site Count.

Also when you click on site collection in central admin on right hand side are you able to see the details? Also try to access the http://url/_layouts/settings.aspx and http://url/_layouts/viewlsts.aspx are you able to access those links.
