I just created a new database in Azure and tried connecting via Azure data studio. The Azure data studio after pressing connect just keeps spinning and nothing happens.

I sought help using the technical chat person at Microsoft and I showed him my firewall settings, my username and other settings and everything was fine on his end. However, I couldnt connect myself using my laptop.

However we found out that I am using MAC OS 10.10.5 while Azure Data Studio requires 10.12. Would this be any cause of concern? do i need to upgrade?

Hello,

Please try to ping your Azure SQL Database logical server. The ping command won’t get any reply from the logical server, but it should give the current IP address of the server.

Use that IP address to perform a telnel command to the IP on port 1433.

What we are doing here is testing basic connectivity. Please configure your firewall and security setting to allow traffic on the IP obtained above and for port TCP 1433.
