There was some maintenance carried out on the server back in May with regards to installing Windows Updates.  I have done a PSCONFIGUI.exe and I notice that a number of updates are missing on both my backend server and the frontend server.

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Hello

Do you install SP before CU Installation? Be aware that all updates for SP 2013 require SP 2013 SP1 to be installed first. 

After that, you need to run psconfig, otherwise, the crawl might no longer work.
