So I have a custom SPD workflow that I've created in a document library. It starts and runs thru fine for most documents without an issue. But have run across 2 docs that won't let the workflow take it's first step. It keeps retrying to start with a HTTP 423 error but it's not even getting to the first action, which is to log to the workflow history.

所有文档均以相同的文档模板开头，并从那里以不同的内容进行更新，因此它们都具有相同的初始文件格式.

All of the documents started with the same document template and were updated with different content from there so they all have the same initial file format.

I've already checked to make sure they weren't checked out. Not sure if someone had it open would it cause this type of problem?

Does anyone know of anything that would prevent the workflow from starting on these two specifically? Seems to be non-workflow related but such an odd thing to be happening, I'm not sure.

Did you met the issue with SharePoint 2010 platform workflow or SharePoint 2013 platform workflow?

For your issue, try to create an simple workflow just with log to the workflow history action, compare whether the workflow is work for the issued documents. 

Besides, Check the ULS log  to determine the exact cause of the error. ULS log is at:

C:\ Program Files \ Common Files \ Microsoft共享\ Web服务器扩展\ 15 \ LOGS
