This is happening on our 2nd sync of a premise to hub table. It is not that huge of a table. It happens consistently as we've tried setting up new SYNC: group - agent - member items for testing with our one test premise.

This note on the setup directions implied ONE global metadatabase for the whole cloud setup: Microsoft recommends that you create a new, empty database to use as the Sync Metadata Database. Data Sync creates tables in this database and runs a frequent workload. This database is automatically shared as the Sync Metadata Database for all of your Sync groups in the selected region. You can't change the Sync Metadata Database or its name without dropping it.

We are confused by the term "REGION" what does that mean? We saw the really old agent setup had region there. What is the topology of this set up for metadata database and  syncgroup (we thot paired to premise db and table)- syncagent (paired to premise)  and member (we thot paired to premised and table)

Does each premise need its own sql server? own vm machine ?

Hello,

That out of memory error was common on Sync Framework when serializing large data sets. What is the size of the database?

With SQL Data Sync you should have a hub database (SQL Azure Database) and one or more member databases. For each SQL Server on-premises you need to install the agent.

For the region, use the same region of the hub database and the sync group.
