I am working on a Sharepoint list which is used for project management with columns like Description, Start date, End Date, etc.

I want to add a new column 'Status'  and 'Date' and I should be able to store this information where I can pick a date and go back to the  status reported on that date. The idea here is during our weekly meeting we update the project status and we should be able to go back to previous dates to see the updates.
