Hello,

We are migrating the users from one forest (X) to another (Y) in SharePoint (two-way trust is established between the forests). We were already having one sync connection inside UPSA for forest X. Now, we created another sync connection inside same UPSA to import users from Y. After migration, in UPSA, we can see two profiles for same users (eg: X\ABC, Y\ABC). After we executed stsadm –o migrateuser or Move-SPuser, the Y\ABC, got deleted and X\ABC, got overwritten as Y\ABC. After this we disabled X\ABC in X domain and moved to different OU.

Now, when the synchronization will run again, will it map and update the attributes (new email, new display name etc. for overwritten Y\ABC or will it bring a new entry from sync connection as Y\ABC and other Y\ABC which got overwritten will remain as such?

Hi scks,

If an entry for the new login name already exists, the entry is marked for deletion to make way for the migration.

So, start a synchronization after user migration, it will synchronize user information for the old login user (overwritten Y\ABC).
