Here is the best idea I could ever invent here:

Look at several existing resume builders. Imagine that you are the job seeker and think if you want to use them or not. For this purpose, create your own resume in several existing builders. (You might need special precautions for not actually saving them.)

After you understand the problems, try to do your best to invent some principles of resume building which have nothing in common with other products. At least 99% of those tools (and probably all 100%, I''m not quite sure) are totally idiotic, brain-damaging, offending, unacceptable, disturbing must-die-immediately stuff.

If you really have a good idea, it would be great if you shared it.

Alternatively, consider not joining this crowd. Many people value their resume too much to trust it to any builder. And forget about "requirements" of some hiring companies or recruiting agencies: all more or less decent companies always consider free-format resume, and others are pretty much useless for job search (in other words, having some resume-builder based application methods only is a pretty clear indication that the company is useless for job seekers).

A word to the developers working in this area: please, no offense. If you think that you made a great job in your resume building method, may be you are perfectly right. However, for me to believe that, I would need a reference to prove that. Isn''t that fair enough? I would really be greatly surprised and please to see something decent or just useful.
