I've noticed that when I go to MySites and look at the People I'm Following, the line underneath the person is supposed to be their most recent "discussion" that they had added within SharePoint. This works - but since users are not frequently using this feature, the second line can sometimes be months (or even years) old.

Is there a method to change everyone's "People I'm Following" so that the second line only shows if the discussion was created or updated in the past 14 days? Or the past month? Or somehow shows the date next to the text? I've looked everywhere for a solution, but short of purging these, I don't see how to get rid of old messages (there are a lot of posts right now showing up for someone's birthday that was 10 months ago).
