I need to lift the contents of a window which contains mostly text and feed it to a file on a continuous basis.

I can find the handle of the window but cannot seem to figure out how to get the information other than the windows title.

The use of windows API would be fine, if only I could see an example.

You could capture a screenshot of the window, then use OCR software to extract the text. It sounds tedious, but I know someone who has done just this (albeit in Perl, not VB) in order to create an "external AI" for a strategy game!
