Dear all,
I has developed one software namely "MILKPRO" for maintaining milk sales barlours accounts. It was fully customized. Already i have a system lock like getting C drive Serial Number. I checked that every dynamic time using hardcode of that serial number in my prog. But the problem is, whenever they format and reinstall the os, that serial number will changed. So, every time I would change that hardcode in my prog, then send it to party....

How can I rectify this problem. Or, Any other system info will be used for permanent usage.?

Please help me...

This is an everlasting problem, and you can easily spend more on trying to protect your software than you wouild have lost in sales, with the end result that you just piss the user off and they go elsewhere.

How many units do you think you will ship? How much are you charging? What is your time worth? You must balance these carefully, if you are to implement a system that works and doesn''t annoy legitimate users. Bear in mind that most users will be pretty ligit until you start to get mass market - when cracked versions of your software will appear on Warez sites within hours of your release of a new version anyway...

You can use hardware dongle to protect your software.
But I want to recomend you one thing, you should use hardware dongle from any reliable company.

Do not compromise on the cost of dongle.
