Hello,

I had done a C# program which needs to access network drives in a LAN when the user is logged off (or not).

The program works well if we create the network drive of the distant machine through VNC but not if we use Remote Desktop...

Does anyone know why it would react in such a way and if there is other workaround because I cannot put VNC servers everywhere...

I had read on some Google results it could be security issues when the user is logged off. In that case I wonder why it works through VNC...

Because you''ve configured the VNC server to run as a service which doesn''t need anyone to be logged on. Whether that''s a good thing or not depends on who you ask. Why do you need to use VNC to create a network share? You should be able to simply map a drive in Explorer and be done with it.

I understand now why it worked through VNC.

I wish I could do so, though I don''t have enough rights on distant machine nor access (even if it''s in our lan and our administrators are quite busy), so I had to use remote desktop...

About VNC, it was a test to know if I was on the right path to find out my problem : I had created shares on several machines as administrator, and when they were created in VNC it worked well but when I had used Remote Desktop it only did for the Remote session, the share wasn''t even visible through VNC...

As you said, it would be more simple if I had real access to the machine...
