i have 2 computer that are connected via network cable and there is a hub i mean i have a LAN.but i don''t know how I should configure them to share data.(configure IP address and ... that they can realize each other). (I right click on my connection properties i just have IP no net mask where can i find it?)

Simplest thing is to configure only IP and netmask:

IP: 10.0.0.1 for #1
IP: 10.0.0.2 for #2

Netmask: 255.0.0.0 for both

leaving anything else (DNS, gateway etc.) blank. Worked for me ;)
