Hie guys can anyone tell me what are the best qualifications for getting a job as a vb.net developer i''ve been using vb.net for the past 2 and a half years & i''ve no work experience, & i''m almost thru with my advanced diploma in Computer studies offered by a UK based examination board apperantly the job market for I.T jobs in my country is low but i would love to work in Australia, South Africa or the UK so what would be relevent qualifications to get a job as a VB.NET developer?

A company doesn''t just want to hire someone who knows the syntax and libraries a language offers, they want someone who can write beautiful, functional, maintainable code, as it''s far more important.

Knowledge of design patterns and unit testing is a big plus. Where I work this is a requirement to even get to an interview, and I can imagine it''s the same for most other software companies.

I don''t know what country you are in but you will probably find it even harder to get a job over here (UK). There may be a shortage of developers in certain areas, but unless you have good strong experience you stand little chance of even getting your CV read. If you really want to get into IT then you will need to start at the bottom (take any local job) and spend a few years getting some good experience.
