I am a member for 5 years in code project but I did not see so much download of my article everyday. I think some one is using a download feed to randomly download articles. As for download my point is increasing but as this is unusual point and its making codeproject pointing system in danger. people will lose interest in submitting article. I also saw other profile and watched same problem. Their point also increase in 1 week rapidly. I think you should make out the problem and solve this to save your pointing system.

You think the votes on the article are so important so someone will even loose motivation? Why? Votes are not the goal. How can they be?

As to the votes on your article, it totally depends on how attractive it is. Also, you only can get most of the votes in the very beginning. Most people read articles soon after they appear. This is normal. Old articles are only read when someone reference them. It again mostly depends on yourself: topic, importance, quality and attractiveness of your article. Some luck, too. Voting system helps but is not crucial.
