In my website, I have several pages that extract data from various database tables using join queries and display the data. My client wants this data to be printable as well. I tried exporting to excel, but it does not work on the server probably because excel is not installed. I cannot install excel on the server as it is commercial one. However, my second option is crystal reports. I do not want to create a report at design time, assign a dataset and choose the tables etc. I want it to work like this:

The data will be extracted using the join queries nad stroed in a dataset/datatable. Part of it is visible in gridview, I want to send the information somehow to the crystal reports i.e. send the dataset/datatable and display the columns and rows of the datatable. I do not want any designing as such, I just want it to be displayed in a grid format. Is there any way?

All the solutions I found demanded the report to be designed initially at design time and then dataset can be assigned. Is there a possibility to work around as I have stated?
