Over the past couple of years, I have been able to find every answer I need here, but I ran into a big problem and I''m looking for help.

I needed a custom control, which was a dot matix display. I tried one that I had found on here, but I didn''t have any luck with it, so I found another by BCT Controls. After a lot of work, I got it to do just what I wanted. It was a free control, but it came up with a registration key, which the author has provided. Then I went to install the application on my laptop and this comes up during the install:

Module C:\programfiles\.........blah blah blah\BCTDisplayMatrix.OCX failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

Why must this happen now?

You can use Filemon.exe or procmon.exe from the SysInternals suite to determine what resources are being accessed. Look for the "NOT FOUND" operation result - that should give you a clue. Or use depends.exe to check the dll''s dependencies.
