I have recently been working on my C++ skills in the last 6 months and would like to learn more about WinAPI. I have seen some of the online tutorials, but feel I might be a little too much of a noob for them. I am looking to learn malware analysis, so I am really interested in becoming knowledgeable of WinAPI.

Petzold's books are quite good, at least up through the fourth edition. Yes, it's old, but the basic ideas it covers haven't changed all that much either. Although it's pretty dated now, I haven't seen any real reason to update my copy of the second edition.

Another good choice would be Jeffrey Richter's Windows Via C/C++. Again, an older edition wouldn't necessarily be a huge handicap, but I'd probably go for the fourth edition (which is the one I've mentioned -- the older editions had a different name).
