OK, getting around the fact that the function is not being triggered unless a change is made should be as easy as adding the GetFullName function to the Form Load event as well.

This will populate the full name field on form load with with the current value.

I don''t see why its working incorrectly if you only update one of the values though. Prehaps you could explain that further.

It''s still not working.
In
.newName = Nz(.M_nfname, .M_fname) & " " & Nz(.M_nlname, .M_lname)...
the M_lname is not brought into .newName when no updated in M_nlname.

It shows only new first name in .newName when only first name updated, and I want it displays the new first name and an old last name in .newName..
