我有一台装有恢复Windows XP映像的程序的PC（基于Linux，不知道名称），它恢复了每次重启时图像中的操作系统，与大学实验室中的操作系统类似。

Hey guys,

I have a PC that is loaded with a program that restores the Windows XP image (Linux based, don''t know the name) which restores the the OS from an image with each reboot, similar to those seen in college labs etc.

So all attempts to use BART or my other bootable-CD password reset utilities are useless. I have only access to a limited account (can''t install programs) but I have command prompt and storage to folders owned by this user.

Without reformatting, is it possible to make this limited user admin to reset the real administrator password or crack the administrator password. (Person has given up on remembering the administrator password)

Any pointers are greatly appreciated. I''d rather not reformat. Don''t know how to reload that Linux re-imaging software back on.

Recovering a Windows password is a difficult request for this forum - not because the answer were difficult, but because it could be used in a malicious way, even if YOU don''t intend to do so. So I''ll just tell you, that Google provides solutions to your problem when using relatively obvious search terms.

Thanks guys, Wasn''t sure it was.

I always Google, and this time i found it difficult to weave through all the reset password schemes that required a restart.

I should have known things like these shouldn''t be out in the open, but you can however give me a link or PM me to point me in a direction.

Any specific Google keywords that may lead me to a result you guys have seen? (besides obvious keywords like "Reset Administrator Password Without Restart" )

Such as the name of a specific registry key if registery alteration is part of the procedure? etc...
