That's going to depend on what kind of PRN file you are talking: I know of at least two different formats: There are PRN files created by Lotus 1-2-3, which are a text version of a spreadsheet; and PRN files which are generated by a printer driver as a print spool file containing the data to instruct the printer to print.

The former is fairly easy to work with, the latter ... not so, because each PRN file is generated by a specific printer driver, and contains content which is specific to the printer: switch printers, and you can get a totally different PRN file content for the save print job!

To be honest, if you are planning on modifying PRN files, you are probably opening yourself up to a whole world of pain - I'd think long and hard about why this before proceeding as it might well be totally the wrong way to do things...
