Your explanation means that you use file sharing protocol which give the access to some remote computer and directories to some or all clients of your local network. In this case, a client computer can mount these shared directories like "\\somePC" or "\\somePC\someSharedDirectory" and "\\somePC\someOtherSharedDirectory".
