Well, first learning the language is one thing, but there are actually several different models for programming in asp.net.

I suggest taking a look here:

The site is very good at splitting out the tutorials into chapters and is also a great reference guide. The page I posted gives a little bit of an explaination of each of the main asp.net models. I suggest looking at MVC as that seems to be very popular these days.
