I have a rather inconsistent and annoying issue with the Search Webpart on our SharePoint 2013 instance.

Search returns no results through the standard search box on the page.

Search Webpart on any page does not render in some browsers (IE, Edge, Chrome, Firefox) until browser cache is cleared.

Clearing the cache works in most cases, but issue can return within a day.

Rebuilt the Search Index, ran full crawl.

Windows updates had not been run on any of the 6 servers running SharePoint since 2015.

Updates were run in April to patch to latest available at that time.
