I downloaded and installed the trial version with service pack 2. The snippet panel shows up but there are no snippets in the panel. Am I missing something.

As I understand snippets, its a repository for some pre-made segments of code, and for you to store your own as well.  Here's a tutorial that explains the use of 'snippets'.
