We have a physical servers with OS 2008R2  where Azure Backup through MARS agent is failing with error "A newer version of Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent is required" but its already running on latest version 2.0.9118.0, we have configured backup in July with latest version and it worked quite well till last week, from last week it stopped working with error and we are not able to validate  restore points on MARS console. we have events in eventvwr as error Backup completed with warnings and warning Microsoft Azure Recovery Services Agent is required.

Hi SUMO21@ , This happens sometimes when a new agent is available but not fully released. Would you be able to install the most recent one found here
Then, try running it to see if it helps ?

I'd highly recommend following this tutorial   to check which agent is out of date. Let me know if this helps.
