Can anyone suggest why my SharePoint Online is slow opening office documents in client application while it is working fast for opening it in browser ?

I need to confirm some information with you first.

1.Is this the case for all the users?

2.Is it slow for all files to open with the client? Or is there only part of the file?

Do you have antivirus software installed on your device?

If so, you can turn off the antivirus software and reopen the file with the client in SharePoint Online

What browser do you use to access SharePoint Online?

1.If you are using Internet Explorer, I recommend that you turn off "automatically detect".

In Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings and uncheck Automatically detect settings.

2.Add SharePoint site to trusted sites.

Internet Options -> Security -> Local intranet -> Sites -> Advanced and Add site to trusted sites.
