Hi, 

We are planning an hybrid migration from Exchange 2010 to O365. 

The organization split the roles on different servers. 
2 Servers have the DAG role installed and 2 servers have the CAS role installed. 

In the full hybrid documentation, it is strongly recommended to have all roles installed on all servers. 

The following is stated: 

At least one server with the Mailbox, Hub Transport, and Client Access server roles installed. While it's possible to install the Mailbox, Hub Transport, and Client Access roles on separate servers, we strongly recommend that you install all of the roles on each server to provide additional reliability and improved performance.

Is the current configuration with split roles on 4 different servers still supported?

Would it be best to install all roles on all servers or install a fresh 2016 server with all roles?

Don't worry about it.

Migrate to Exchange Online from your current configuration. Then you can uninstall Exchange 2010 and replace it with (migrate the empty org to) Exchange 2016 or the new agent described here:
