我必须在VM上安装SharePoint 2013. 

I have to install SharePoint 2013 set up on VM.

I have two virtual machines one for SharePoint setup and other for SQL Server 2012 SP4 R2.

On SQL Server I have created users and are able to login using SQL Server credentials.

On SharePoint VM when I enter database server name along with user name and password install SharePoint, getting below error message,

Are you joining your VM to a domain? Or are you attempting to do a standalone sharepoint server? From the error seems like you need to use a domain account to login and not just a username and password.
