I have a server with Windows 2008.

I have created an inbound rule to allow a port to be opened so that the Client can access the server with that port.

ports are not opened by default.. you need an application to consume that port.. I mean for example if you have enabled port 80 on firewall, it wont open the port. to open the port you need web server configured to utilize port 80 .. either iis binding should be set to port 80.. like wise what about 4499?
