Hello I have a customer that has a need to swap out the hard drives of notebooks with Windows 7 embeded standard on it.

WES7 doesn't require activation. I never tried moving drives to different computers so I don't know what will happen to the image itself, but technical nothing should happen.

The real question might be legal. You might want to contact a MS distributor to get any legal clarification on swapping out the OS with a new one.
