i had coded an application for pixelsense and its working fine on my simulator but not being able to deploy it on surface2.0
the steps i followed :

I can see my app in Surface configuration Editor->Application Launcher

There are different solution to install an application on Surface 2.0 unit. The way I will call fast way whihc is manual operation or a clean way through WIX installer.

In you scenario, you said you have copied binaries in a folder (whatever it is)
Then be sure that you have created a short cut from the application XML file in your bin folder and not a simple copy.
For that the west way is to right click on your App.xml and select Send ShortCut to Desktop.Then copy that shortcut in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Surface\v2.0\Programs
