I installed the Windows Phone SDK on my desktop no problems, everything works great.

I then installed it on my Dell Inpiron R17, and it made my keyboard and trackpad not work. I had to plug in a usb mouse and keyboard. I did a system restore before the SDK, works again. Installed SDK, breaks again. Went back to the restore point.

@kylextech - heard this issue for the first time. Can you try repairing the drivers for Keyboard and trackpad from Device Manager instead of doing system restore after installer Windows Phone SDK 8.0. I believe updating the device drivers will solve the issue.
