we're making a prototype using Windows 10 IoT Core running on a Raspberry Pi 3, and are having a huge problem with the USB ports. Our prototype needs a mobile internet connection, and so we're using the Huawei/Vodafone K5150 4G USB dongle (since it's one of the only ones supported according to https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/iot/docs/hardwarecompatlist#Miscellaneous).

The K5150 dongle works as it should initially, but according to our application logs the connection drops and never comes back after a few hours. The reason it never comes back seems to be that the current vanishes from all four USB ports (not just the one we're using) until we reboot the device (we have measured the current). We're using a 3.0A power supply.

Though this might be a visual bug in said app.
