Apologies if this is a stupid question. I am trying to produce some instructions for not-so-technical users to install the Windows Performance Toolkit  and then use batch files to investigate usb events using xperf.

We are trying to find common links where there are problems with usb audio interfaces.

I can produce instructions to run wpt_x86.msi  from  the WinSDKPerformanceToolkit directory for 32-bit machines, or wpt_x64.msi from the WinSDKPerformanceToolkit_amd64 directory. The question is, which of these files should I ask users to install if they are running Windows 7 64-bit on an Intel processor?

I don't have an Intel machine here to test, unfortunately.

Hi,

I think the answer is simple (I hope so).

"msiexec /i C:\Software\wpt_x64.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL" --> the Intel and AMD 64Bit based version
"msiexec /i C:\Software\wpt_x86.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL" --> the Intel and AMD 32Bit based version

If the got a wrong OS version --> the user will see a smal popup windows.

Hint: I expect that you has build the folder and copy the files into before.
And you can use a central network path as well :).
