This is a good forum, but you are way ahead of the curve.   There is little or no public information about future releases of Windows Embedded Compact.

As far as Windows 8 being Windows Embedded Compact 7 - I think that the answer is no.   From everything that I have heard, Windows 8 is based on Windows 7 not on embedded.

As far as details like cellcore, I think that we just need to be patient.
