Hello,

Is it possible to test 3rd party applicatons using Microsoft Lab Management?  We want to be able to test our own applications written in VS2010 Ultimate as well as load testing any third party application we are looking at purchasing.  I know the HP product Quick Test Pro can do some of this but i was looking for a single solution, incorporating VS 2010, TFS, etc

Hi Duane,

If you are talking about UI testing of 3rd party apps then it depends on the underlying UI framework in use. Please have a look at the supported frameworks @ http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd380742.aspx

Wrt load tests you would be able to work against 3rd party apps as well. However the counters that you can monitor on the server depend on the how the app is hosted on the server ie. within IIS etc. If you could share some more details/samples about this here or on the load test forums and we can help you out further.
