Is there any possibility to use the Kinect v2 Sensonr with Windows 7. I'm working at an university and we're willing to use it for biomechanical studies. I've already read about the USB 3.0 issue beeing the reason for the only Windows 8.1 support.

But for various reasons it's not possible to switch to Windows 8.1, as my university is refusing to switch any time soon. I think I'm not the only one with this problem, as the last Kinect v1 was used widely for academic research. Microsoft should be interessted in theese developpers, so I'm don't really get the idea for this restriction (or no patch for the USB 3.0 with Windows 7, if this is really the reason).

From what I understand Win8 has a completely rewritten USB3.0 stack included out of the box that can handle the full bandwidth robustly.

On Win7 this was often not very well implemented by the various manufacturers especially considering high bandwidth sustained throughput.
