Do I need any external software beside BT 2010 out of the box to physically send an EDI document to an external warehouse? According to what I read everything should be in BT but I am being told that we need to purchase adapters from "nSoftware" .

BT out of the box will do everythig you need to process EDI. nSoftware provides you adapters that you can use to connect BT to external vendors. You may or may not need custom adapters, it all depends on the capabilities of your TP.
