Have an Excel workbook with ODC connection that uses the SSS ID target ID in secure store that hits an external SQL database.  When I open the workbook by going into the sample library and clicking it, I can then click on the Refresh All connections at the top and the data refreshes.  Is there any way to make sure when the workbook is opened it automatically refreshes the data? The reason I am asking is because when I publish it to the BI dashboard and include it in a dashboard, no Refresh button is availalble!  Does that mean the data really is refreshing in the dashboard or do I have to do something to make it refresh automatically.  (Sorry....data repository testing with changes very little).  Any ideas?

Hi,

When You create dashboard using Excel workbook. In dashboard data will refreshes automatically.

And for work book Go to DATA tab --> Connections --> Properties -->  Usage --> select  Refresh data  when opening the file and save the changes.
