It will not connect to TFS automatically even though you installed the VS 2017 and TFS 2017 in same machine, it will connect TFS via the Team Explorer which has been integrated in VS 2017.

You need to manage connections first, to do that just follow below steps:

1. 点击团队资源管理器中的管理连接图标

5. Select a team project from the list and select Connect.
