Is it possible to add an additional Resource Name column that is independent of the built in one?  I'm looking to have two separate Resource Name columns with resource selection options ; one for personnel and the other for another list.  I don't want the two separate columns to display the same information.  The way you select resources in the Resource Name column is what I'm looking to duplicate with the second column, not a generic selection when you create a custom column.

You are not going to get "exactly" the same thing. Only the Resource Name is associated with a task assignment that you can track actual work against.

You can add a custom text field. Under custom attributes you can specify a lookup list, which will give you a dropdown list to chose from. You can also allow entering a new name in the field, which will get added to the dropdown list. I do not think there is a way to allow the selection of multiple resources from the list, however.
