Hello-

I am attempting to run a full backup of my SharePoint farm using the default settings.  I am performing the backup via Central Admin (not PowerShell).  The target location is a share on another Windows server.  I have verified that the target location has adequate space and the proper permissions.  Once I start the backup, it simply changes the status to "A backup or restore is currently in progress" and sits there...forever. :)  I checked the target and there are no files present.  The only way I can change the status is to delete the Backup timer job.  Can someone please advise me on how to start my troubleshooting?  I don't see anything applicable in the Event Viewer on my SP Central Admin server.  Thanks.

Update - I tried the backup from PowerShell using Backup-SPFarm -Directory <BackupFolder> -BackupMethod Full -Verbose and it seemed to run fine.  The problem appears to be with Central Admin.  Thanks
