I have a client that was running Office 2013 and changed to Office 365.  They are running SharePoint internally.  They have had Metadata setup on the office documents so when they go to save them they have to enter information in.  All of the metadata seems to work but one that pulls from a list of different companies.  This has worked before to o365.  any Ideas what could be causing the problems.  Any Help would be appreciated

do you mean lookup field which gets values from another list? If yes - was this lookup list also migrated to Sharepoint Online and did you check that lookup field is properly configured there (Site settings > Site columns), i.e. that it refers to this lookup list on SPO?
